episode 12: one on one part 2
This week’s conversation was so amazing we went on and on! Lucky you, now you have TWO episodes with the amazing Kevin Avery. Hear about Hall and Oates singing with their idols, Eddie Kendrick and David Ruffin, and find out how our conversation with Kevin Avery manages to connect NKOTB, Tammy Faye Baker, and the Transformers back to Hall and Oates.
KEVIN AVERY is a comedian, actor and two-time Emmy award-winning writer whose writing credits include such shows as HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and Comedy Central’s The Jim Jefferies Show. He’s also served as head writer for and appeared regularly on the FX series, Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell and on Comedy Central’s The New Negroes. Currently, Kevin is a co-executive producer on the FOX animated series, The Great North, where he can also be heard voicing the character “Jarvis Dufraine.”
The cocktail this week is The Americano, which is Bond’s first drink order in “Casino Royale,” the 1953 book by Ian Fleming that kicked off the series, and the cocktail again makes an appearance in later novels. The man was onto something, but the cocktail predates Bond by nearly a century.
Sorry to say, not one of our favorites…sorry, Bond.
